After record numbers attended the seventh annual production of “Scrooge!” this year, Clear Space Theatre Company is preparing to continue the holiday celebrations with “Showstoppers!” on Saturday, Dec. 31.

A hit in its inaugural year in 2010, “Showstoppers!” is Clear Space’s unique way of ringing in the new year. A group of talented vocalists will take the stage at 9 p.m. to offer a brand-new selection of big Broadway musical numbers, accompanied by artistic director Doug Yetter. Selections this year include “Bosom Buddies” from “Mame,” “Easy Street” from “Annie,” and “Glitter and Be Gay” from “Candide,” among many others.

Following this hourlong performance of splashy musical numbers, Doug Yetter will be joined by a live swing band for the remainder of the evening for the audience to swing in the new year. Dancing will continue until 1 a.m., with hand-passed hors d’oeuvres and dessert throughout the evening and a champagne toast at midnight.

Clear Space Theatre Company’s “Showstoppers!” will be held at the Clear Space Theatre, 20 Baltimore Ave., Rehoboth Beach, beginning at 9 p.m., Saturday, Dec. 31. Tickets are $50 each and include the performance, live music, hors d’oeuvres, dessert and champagne toast. A cash bar will also be available.
