The 13th Annual John Milton Memorial Celebration of Poets and Poetry will be held from 12:30 to 4 p.m., Saturday, Dec. 10,  at the Milton Public Library, 121 Union St. in Milton. This event has grown from a group of eight to 10 poets crowded into the tiny John Milton & Co Bookstore reading to each other to a statewide event that honors great Delmarva poets.

This year brings presentations by two special groups. The first group of poets participated in the 2010 Cape Henlopen Writers Retreat sponsored by Delaware Division of the Arts. They include Maria Keane, Abby Millager, Maggie Rowe, Eleanore Morrow, Joseph L. Crossen, Wendy Schermer and Barbara Brown. Their work appears in an upcoming anthology of works by the Henlopen retreat poets.

The second group highlights three poets of the newly minted Broadkill Review Press. They include Sid Gold, Mary Ann Larkin and Laura Brylawski-Miller. Patric Pepper, a tireless supporter of the new press, will also be reading.

The afternoon will culiminate with the announcement of the Dogfish Head Poetry Award, sponsored by Dennis Forney of the Cape Gazette and the Dogfish Head Brewery Inc. The winner will read from the new manuscript.
