On February 6, 2012 Nanticoke Health Services thanked donors from the community, medical staff, and employees that contributed to the “Holiday Appeal” and “Annual Giving” programs. “We are so appreciative that the community and Nanticoke’s medical staff have stepped up as leaders to support this institution and its mission ‘To positively impact our communities’ quality of life through superior health service’,” said Pat Olekszyk, Chair, Community Benefit Committee and Board Member of Nanticoke Health Services.

A breakfast reception was held in the hospital lobby to celebrate the success of the programs. Nanticoke set a goal to raise $30,000 between the two giving programs which was exceeded by donations totaling over $43,000. A recognition board thanking the donors was revealed and is now on display in the lobby of Nanticoke Memorial Hospital.

“We’re grateful to all of our donors who support their community while making a difference in the lives of those less fortunate and their support to programs and services at Nanticoke Health Services,” said Maria Lehman, Nanticoke Health Services Community Benefit Committee member.

The “Holiday Appeal” letter encouraged community members and Nanticoke’s medical staff to consider making a contribution towards the “Prescription Drug Fund” or “Area of Greatest Need” in lieu of a gift to family, friends, colleagues, or business associates in their name. The “Holiday Appeal” program was chaired by Dr. and Mrs. Joseph Olekszyk and Dr. and Mrs. Harry A. Lehman III.
