Record heat kills crops, takes toll on Cape Region

Record-breaking temperatures seared corn in its husk this week, wiping out one-third of the Cape Region’s nonirrigated field corn. The heat also drove throngs to the beach and others to air-conditioned retail stores and movie theaters.
