For the past five years, a group of women from the Lewes area has presented A Pink Affair to Remember during October, Breast Cancer Awareness Month. Begun by only a handful of dedicated friends, this grassroots effort has grown into an annual event that has raised more than $50,000 for those facing cancer.

All of the funds have been donated to organizations within Sussex County for the sole purpose of helping local women with cancer on their roads to recovery. The beneficiary this year is the Sussex County-Delaware Cancer Support Community, an organization that provides support for men, women, children and families whose lives are touched by cancer.

The event includes a luncheon, raffle, boutique, and fashion show featuring cancer survivors as models. The event to be held Friday, Oct. 18, in Rehoboth is sold-out.

The Pink Affair Committee is pleased to welcome partnering sponsors for this year's event. Ocean Atlantic Sotheby’s International Realty joins them as a signature sponsor and Price Automotive Group as a presenting sponsor. Delmarva Public Radio is participating as media sponsor, and the Friends of Pat Staby Rogers group has donated more than $3,000. They are grateful to their sponsors for their generosity and hope that thehir guests and community members will remember to support these businesses.
