Academy Award nominees in short film category to screen Feb. 27 and 28

For February’s Monthly Screening, the Rehoboth Beach Film Society will present a showcase of this year's Academy Award nominees for Best Live Action Short Film. The screenings will be held at 7 p.m., Thursday, Feb. 27, at The Den at Bear Trap Dunes, and at 7 p.m., Friday, Feb. 28, in the upstairs screening room at the Movies at Midway.

This year's list includes the following:

"Helium" - A dying boy finds comfort in tales of a magical land called Helium told to him by the hospital janitor.

"The Voorman Problem" - A psychiatrist is called to a prison to examine an inmate who is convinced he is a god. Starring Martin Freeman.

"Just Before Losing Everything" (Avant Que De Tout Perdre) - Miriam has left her abusive husband and taken refuge with her children in the local supermarket where she works.

"That wasn’t Me" - A Spanish aid worker has an encounter with an African child soldier named Kaney.

"Do I Have to Take Care of Everything?" - Sini tries frantically to get her family ready to leave for a wedding, but her husband and two children are interfering with her efforts.

Admission for Monthly Screenings is $4 for Rehoboth Beach Film Society members (current membership card must be presented), and $6 for future members. Tickets will be sold at the door on a first-come, first-served basis.
