Accident slows traffic on Wescoats Road
Lewes — A two-car accident at the intersection of Wescoats Road and Marsh Road slowed traffic May 20 as firefighters and Delaware State Police cleared the scene.
Delaware State Police spokesman Cpl. John Day said the crash occurred at 12:05 p.m. when a black 2009 Acura ATL traveling eastbound on Marsh Road failed to stop at a stop sign and collided with a 2008 Dodge Dakota pickup that was heading northbound on Wescoats Road.
The driver of the Dakota was transported to Beebe Heathcare and treated for minor injuries, Day said, while the Acura driver, a 28-year-old Millsboro woman, was not injured. She was issued a traffic summons for failing to stop at a stop sign and driving with an expired license.
Tow trucks cleared the cars off the road and traffic began flowing again around 12:30 p.m.
