Adam F. Kelly, accomplished photographer
Adam F. Kelly, 85, of Millsboro, formerly of Drexel Hill, Pa., went home to be with the Lord Thursday, Feb. 20, 2014.
Adam was born in Philadelphia, Pa., son of the late Lamar and Magdalene (Bommer) Kelly. He served as an instructor in the U.S. Army Signal Corp from 1951-53.
Adam was a self-taught photographer, employed with Jules Schick Studio in Philadelphia for more than 35 years prior to forming a partnership with Vince Massa known as Kelly & Massa Photography. During his career he had the privilege of photographing all the presidents from Kennedy through Clinton, as well as, many other dignitaries. After retiring in 1996, Adam and the love of his life Sally moved to the beach, where he could enjoy fishing and gardening.
Adam was a man of God, who served East Gate Presbyterian Church as a deacon for a number of years. He was also a member of American Legion Post 28 in Millsboro. Devoted to his family, Adam will be remembered as having a quick and wonderful sense of humor which was thoroughly enjoyed by all who knew him.
In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by four siblings. He is survived by his loving wife of 60 years, Sarah (Lawrence) Kelly; three children, Robin Moore, Richard (Gail) Kelly and Robert (Tricia) Kelly; three granddaughters, Colleen, Sam and Emily Kelly; three grandsons, Bobby, Brian and Patrick Kelly; a sister, Della Schugardt; and many loving nieces and nephews.
A celebration of Adam’s life will be held at 11 a.m., Friday, Feb. 28, at East Gate Presbyterian Church, 34806 Church Lane, Millsboro, where friends and family may visit at 10 a.m. Interment will be private.
