Aging in Place forum to be held Jan. 23 at Cape High
An Aging in Place forum will be held from 5:15 to 9 p.m., Thursday, Jan. 23, (weather date Jan. 30) at Cape Henlopen High School on Kings Highway, Lewes. The event is free and registration is not required; however, organizers expect a large turnout and suggest early arrival. Attendees will learn about programs that exist or are planned to help keep people in their homes longer.
The event is cosponsored by the Parkinson Education and Support Group of Sussex County, the Delaware Department of Health and Social Services, Beebe Healthcare, St. Francis Hospital’s LIFE Program, the Greater Lewes Community Village, Griswold Home Care, Christiana Care Visiting Nurses Association, the Sussex County Advisory Council on Aging and Adults with Physical Disabilities and the Cape Gazette.
The moderator is Jeffrey Fried, president and CEO of Beebe Healthcare. Speakers include opening speaker Rita Landgraf, Delaware secretary of Health and Social Services; Joan Thomas, special assistant to the president, Beebe Healthcare; Amy Milligan, St. Francis Hospital’s ACE Program; Maryanne Murray, owner, Griswold Home Care; Carol Wzorek, co-president, Greater Lewes Community Village; Lynn C. Jones, FACHE, president and CEO, Christiana Visiting Nurses Association and senior vice president, Christiana Care Post-Acute Services.
