Alonza Elliott, very artistic
Alonza Elliott of Seaford passed away in the early hours of Tuesday, June 18, 2013.
He was born in Stockbridge Ga. Sept. 15, 1957, to the late Obediah and Thelma (Goggins) Elliott-Martin. He is survived by three brothers: Anthony T. Martin, John Martin Jr. of Seaford and Thomas J. Elliott of Stockbridge; and one sister, Velma (Richard) Norwood of Millsboro. Alonza was also affectionately known as “Uncle Big Granddaddy” to his nephews: Dino Rodriguez, John Brown, Kameron (Orelien) Polk and Trevor Polk, whom he loved so much. He also leaves to cherish his memory a host of cousins, nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends both in Delaware and in Stockbridge.
Alonza was very artistic and in his younger years would spend hours drawing, painting and sculpturing. He even had several pieces of art displayed at the Smithsonian Institute of Art as a teenager.
As an adult, Alonza worked at many of the local poultry plants until he was disabled.
He loved his cat Goldie and would always remind us to feed and take care of her in his absence.
A memorial service and celebration of life will be held Wednesday June 26, at 1 p.m. at Friendship United Methodist Church, Millsboro. Arrangements by Watson Funeral Home, Millsboro.
