Are we forgetting real meaning of Memorial Day?

By Mary Beth Palkon-Krytzer | May 30, 2013

I brought visitors down to Rehoboth to the Boardwalk and town on Monday and they commented to me "Where were all the American flags?"

I looked around, and to my amazement, it didn't look like a national holiday except for the crowds.

American flags should have been flying  everywhere, especially seen during July 4th holiday, or even folks dressed in the colors of the American flag of red, whilte and blue.

I then looked around my neighborhood, Lewes, Milton and also wondered why more folks didn't at least put out an American flag?

Was it due to the high winds on Saturday? And why didn't I notice this sooner?
This holiday of course is the start of the summer, but I believe we all might be we forgetting the real meaning of Memorial Day.
