The Rehoboth Beach Film Society, Lewes Public Library and the Movies at Midway present “The Deflowering of Eva van End” as March’s film for the Around the World series of critically acclaimed, international independent films. The award-winning comedy will be presented at 7 p.m., Wednesday, March 5, in the upstairs screening room at Movies at Midway. Due to the generosity of Movies at Midway, admission to this film series is free and open to the public.

"The Deflowering of Eva van End" is a quirky and satirical comedy that tells the story of the dysfunctional Dutch van End family, consisting of mom, dad, their two sons Erwin and Manuel, and their very introverted daughter, Eva. One night at dinner, Eva tries to tell them she is participating in a school project and will be bringing home a German exchange student, but she is ignored. When Veit, the student, arrives, the family is shocked and surprised, but the parents readily accept him into their home.

As Veit interacts with each family member, all five begin to confront their self-doubts, insecurities, fears and desires. Trapped in the middle of all the upheaval, Eva looks for ways to reinvent herself that will spark a dramatic transformation from adolescence to adulthood.
