Bargains on the Broadkill a success

By Lisa Sumstine | Sep 08, 2013

On behalf of the Milton Chamber of Commerce I’d like to thank everyone who helped make this year’s Bargains on the Broadkill a resounding success.

To our vendors and those who came out to shop: you are the foundation of this event. We sincerely thank you for choosing to spend your day in the park with us. Thank you to the Milton Lions Club for operating the Milton Clipper, the train is fun for kids of all ages and contributed greatly to our fantastic day. Thank you Irish Eyes and all who participated in the canoe and kayak race on the scenic Broadkill and thank you to John Mixon of Salt and Light Entertainment for providing the perfect sound track to our Saturday in Memorial Park.

Our annual Duck Race exceeded all our expectations. Thank you to the very generous chamber members who donated prizes for this event: Security Instruments, Bob Willey and Sons, Jeannie O’Donnell State Farm Insurance, M&T Bank, Jack Lingo Realty, Best ACE Hardware, Reed Trucking, Irish Eyes, Chardon Jewelry, Shorts Funeral Services, Cape Gazette, Victoria’s Salon, Abodes, Lavender Fields, Sherman Heating and Oil, Salon Milton, Kings Ice Cream, Brian Gustafson Clock Repair, Village Beauty Salon, Functional Chiropractic and Magnolia Street Antiques. Congratulations to all those who bought a duck and their duck came in.

Finally we’d like to thank the entire community of Milton for supporting this event and warmly welcoming visitors to our great town. Please save the day: Aug. 24, 2014, next year’s Bargains on the Broadkill.
