Flying feet are analogous to barking dogs as 391 runners embraced the cause for paws, racing for dogs and cats too Aug. 17 at the 5th annual SPCA 5K fundraiser.

A one-mile doggie walk with all canines tethered to owners and some to strollers was the highlight of the event.

The race was won by Enos Benbow, 32, in 17:17. Steven Eshdman, 19, of Lincoln was second in 18:07, followed by Joey Andrisani 18:25, Dave Hallman 18:26 and Robert Martin 18:39.

Tara Cavaselis was the first woman in 19:21 followed by Lillian McCormick in the same time. Caitlin Dimondi (20:40), Sarah Dimondi (20:41) and Alice Miller (20:57) rounded out the top five.
