Beacon and Mariner wrestling show their moves at conference tourney

The Cape Henlopen School District middle schools showed they have the future Vikings wrestling squad headed in the right direction as they took on the rest of the Henlopen Conference middle schools at the Milford Middle School gymnasium Jan. 2.

Beacon finished in eighth place with 123 points while Mariner finished in 11th place with 65 points.

Beacon finalists were Anthony Caruso in second place at 76 pounds, Ethan Ghabra in second at 106 pounds, Chris Handlin in fourth at 130, Cory Lawson in second at 145, Brock Maloomian in fifth at 155 and Liam Zolper in fifth at 170 pounds.

Mariner Vikings finalists were Dillon Adams placing third at 118 pounds, Vincent Diego third at 124 and Kaden Greenlee fifth in the 130-pound class.

The youth states tournament, which includes elementary and middle schools, will be Saturday and Sunday, Feb. 14 and 15 at Sussex Tech.
