The Beacon Middle School girls' basketball team remained undefeated on the season with a 44-17 home win over Sussex Academy Jan. 25.

Beacon was paced by Sydney Pederson, who had 15 points including three 3-pointers.

Beacon girls will play Mariner at 6 p.m., Wednesday, Feb. 5, in the Cape high school gym.

The Beacon boys defeated Sussex Academy 61-17, led by Ian Robertson with 15 and a season-high 8 points from Jackson Ostroski.

Beacon has steadily improved throughout the season and should prove a worthy opponent for high-flying Mariner Feb. 5 in the second game of the middle school matchup.
