A day after a crazy Cape at Delmar 2-1 overtime varsity win for the Vikings, Delmar Middle School was back on the pitch battling Beacon, a Cape feeder program along with Mariner Middle School.

The low-slung sun was blinding, and the weather record-breaking hot for October as two highly skilled young teams battled to a scoreless first half.

The second half brought a change in field direction, and Beacon started to relentlessly pressure the Delmar goal, scoring four times in 10 minutes.

Goals were scored by Marcella Sabbagh 2, Kaylie Truitt and Annie Judge.

Marley Geppert got the shutout in goal.
