Beaufait's experience, background make him best choice
Elections are important events. Each one determines the course the community will take for the future. And so, it is imperative we give consideration to insure that our representatives act in the best interests of the community.
This year in May, we will elect or re-elect two members of the Lewes City Council. Choosing our councilpersons is made easier if we understand the candidate and his or her record of community service. The best choice this year is a candidate who has proven himself to be both reliable and with a clear vision of the city’s future direction. For me, that person is Dr. Fred Beaufait.
I have worked with Dr. Beautfait in several capacities and know that he may always be counted upon to support the effort when he says he will and make decisions that make the effort successful. He and I worked together directing and operating the WSFS Lewes Summer Music Series. For several years he was constant in his commitment insuring each concert was prepared for and ran smoothly. Now, we both serve on the Parks & Recreation Commission where he is the City Council ex-officio to the commission. Without exception, he has not only supported the commission in its decisions, but advised how best to achieve a desired goal of the commission.
It is abundantly clear that his successful background as a co-worker, an educator and as a governing member of a higher-learning institute demonstrates his remarkable ability to lead, educate, and support all of the organizations to which he has been a member. For the past two years, sitting as a council member, he has accurately identified the community needs and restrictions and has acted on our behalf in making Lewes a better place in which to live and visit. We must not lose this gifted man’s talents and so, I encourage all who vote this year, to carefully consider Dr. Fred Beaufait’s exceptional skills and re-elect him to the position where his acquired knowledge and experience may be sought again to work with the strong City Council that has developed over the past few years.
