Beebe Medical Foundation welcomes 10 new members to its Board of Ambassadors. The responsibility of the board is to work with the foundation to support and advocate for the expansion of quality healthcare by reaching out to those who live and work in Sussex County.

“We welcome our new members, and thank them for committing themselves to learn about the services offered by Beebe and to be an advocate for Beebe’s work in the community,” says Alex Sydnor, president and CEO of Beebe Medical Foundation, and vice president of External Affairs for Beebe Medical Center. “We also applaud the work that all of the members of the board do to make Sussex County a better and healthier place to live, to work and to visit.”

Ambassadors typically serve two-year terms and represent Beebe Medical Foundation at many events. They are both advocates and good listeners, talking to people about what services Beebe Medical Center offers, and learning about what more is needed.

The foundation typically hosts spring and fall meetings to educate ambassadors about Beebe Medical Center on topics ranging from the latest cardiac procedures and surgeries being performed to the growth of the orthopaedic spine surgery program. Physicians are brought in to present to the group and answer questions so ambassadors may speak socially about the latest happenings at the Medical Center.

Beebe Medical Foundation was established in 1989 with the sole mission to raise philanthropic support for Beebe Medical Center. The foundation is at 902 Savannah Road, Lewes. Visit www.beebemedicalfoundation.org.

Beebe Medical Center is a not-for-profit community healthcare system with a charitable mission to encourage healthy living, prevent illness and restore optimal health with the people residing, working or visiting in the communities it serves.  For more information, go to www.beebemed.org.
