Beebe Healthcare names Bridget Buckaloo Executive Director of Women’s Health
Bridget Buckaloo, MSN, RNC-OB, has been named the Executive Director of Women’s Health Services at Beebe Healthcare. Ms. Buckaloo, who has more than 27 years of perinatal nursing experienced, joined Beebe Healthcare from the Delaware Chapter of the Perinatal Cooperative and Delaware March of Dimes where she was serving as Perinatal Project Coordinator.
At Beebe, she reports to Steven Rhone, RN, BSN, MS, NE-BC, Vice President of Patient Care Services, and will lead the development of Beebe’s strategy to serve our female community across the life span-and-care continuum.
“We are extremely fortunate to have Bridget in this key role.” Mr. Rhone said. “She has a wealth of knowledge and experience in caring for women both in their child-bearing age and as adults. We are looking forward to working with her as we continually improve our program.”
During her years of experience, Ms. Buckaloo has served in many roles in high-risk antepartum and labor and delivery settings. She has worked as a nurse educator, charge nurse, research coordinator, nurse manager, clinical director, and adjunct faculty. In her role as the Perinatal Project Coordinator, she interfaced with providers, hospitals, and other key partners in the State of Delaware to promote Best Practice and Standards of Care through Quality Improvement initiatives. Current projects include Neonatal Abstinence Syndrome, Maternal Transport, The Baby Friendly Hospital Initiative, Home visiting, The Delaware Makena Project, and Perinatal Depression.
As an active member of both the Education and Prevention and the Standards of Care committees of the Delaware Healthy Mother and Infant Consortium (DHMIC), Bridget has worked with the members of the Child Death, Near death, and Stillbirth Commission (CDNDSC), as well as the Delaware Division of Public Health, to develop and implement a Safe Sleep campaign in Delaware, including the DOSE® program for First Responders. Bridget has also worked in private practice as a prenatal care and education provider.
In addition to her professional work, Bridget is an active member of the Delaware Chapter of AWHONN and the Co-chair of the Kent-Sussex Case review team for Delaware FIMR (Fetal Infant Mortality Review), and The Maternal Mortality Review Task Force.
Most recently, Bridget was nominated to become a member of the Community Advisory Council (CAC) for the Delaware Clinical Translational Research Initiative (DE-CTR), known as ACCEL in Delaware.
Ms. Buckaloo earned both her BSN and MSN as a Perinatal Clinical Specialist from the University of Delaware College of Nursing. She also has an advanced certification in Inpatient Obstetrical Nursing.
