Cancer Support Community holds brunch
The Cancer Support Community in Rehoboth Beach held its 4th Annual Breast Cancer Survivor Celebration brunch Oct. 14. The American Cancer Society, Cancer Support Community, the Delaware Breast Cancer Coalition and the Tunnell Cancer Center sponsored the event.
The attendees enjoyed brunch and then listened to a presentation by two-year breast cancer survivor Suzanne Murphy. Murphy said that cancer was actually a gift in her life. After surviving cancer, Murphy became more active in community activities such as the Rehoboth Beach Film Society, took up watercolor journaling and got rid of her boyfriend.
During her talk, Murphy shared her watercolor journal and the experiences she had in a watercolor class and her travel journal on a trip to Europe. Watercolor journaling turned out to be very therapeutic exercise for her.
Shown is Murphy sharing her travel journal with the other attendees.
