Fresh from a silver medal win at a recent choral competition in Williamsburg, Va., the Cape Chorale and Cape Choir finished the year with a concert May 19.

“The chorale has performed and competed in Lennox, Massachusetts, Williamsburg, Virginia, and Washington, D.C., in the past two years alone, receiving much praise,” said Louise Foster, director of the chorale and choir. “The choir is a collection of students who love music and are gifted singers.”

The chorale is an audition-only choir that has traveled and performed all across the East Coast. Each year, a group of about 30 talented students from Cape Henlopen High School are selected to be a part of this mixed choir.

The choir is an all-inclusive mixed choir consisting of any students who are interested in participating in choral music while at Cape Henlopen High School.

Last December, the chorale performed at the National Christmas Tree and the group recently sang for the First Town Club in Lewes. Auditions for next year's chorale have been held and singers will perform at graduation and during an event Aug. 26 at Al Stango Park in Lewes, Foster said.

Capping off a great year, Foster said, the group spent a long weekend at the Heritage Choral Competition in Williamsburg and brought home a silver from the competition.
