Cape Gazette should present opposing views

By Eva Cieniewicz | Sep 30, 2013

When does the Cape Gazette intend to hire another political reporter to counter Don Flood’s liberal Democrat views? If you can’t find a non-partisan writer, please consider every other week a writer presenting the conservative side of the issues. The majority of voters in Sussex County would appreciate that decision.

Mr. Flood starts in his Sept 17 column writing about how Americans from both parties are “united in opposition to a U.S. airstrike in Syria.” In another paragraph he berates the Hudson Management sign on Route 1 that pleads with the president not to lead us into war. The sign is on their private property. Does Mr. Flood forget our First Amendment rights of freedom of speech? I stand by the U.S. Constitution. And, If Mr. Hudson decided that past wars were “stupid,” I admire his honesty and he has the right to say it.

Mr. Flood and the mainstream media only portray what a good job the current commander-in-chief does leading our country. To excuse his leadership blunders, most Democrats agree with him that the numerous scandals with the IRS, Benghazi, and NSA spying on Americans are all phony. I guess that the problems we will have and have already experienced with the horrendous Obamacare law will be phony too.

The 2014 elections will be here before we know it. We in Sussex County need some fair and balanced journalism. And, we need the truth. Maybe the Cape Gazette can provide it. I certainly hope so.
