The Cape field hockey players have been out for a week and two days and already have been in two play day scrimmages. Cape starts full-time school Tuesday, Sept. 3, before opening the regular season Tuesday, Sept. 10, hosting Laurel before traveling to engage a dangerous Milford team Thursday, Sept. 12.

The Vikings will have 17 days with no scrimmages to get ready to defend their 2012 state championship. They also won the title in 2011. Sussex Tech won titles in 2009 and 2010.
