Cape Henlopen High School JROTC members spent Saturday, Nov. 2, assisting American Legion Post 5, American Legion Post 17, and Mountaire Poultry in the collection of food donations to provide Thanksgiving meals to needy veterans and their families in Sussex County.

The collection points were at the Safeway, Super Fresh, and Giant supermarkets. The effort was an astounding success for all involved and resulted in the collection of more than 100 complete meals for Cape Region families.

Shown are (l-r) Sgt. First Class Richard Hurt and cadets Kenneth Meyers, Erick Gardner, Alex Dominick, and James Albertella helping load a truck at Super Fresh.

Gathered at the donation table (l-r) are cadets Joel Torres, Alex McClain, Kenneth Meyers, Zach Harris, Tyler Marker, Murtle Foos of the American Legion, Cadet Erick Gardner and Bill Foos of the American Legion. (Source: Submitted)
