Cape JROTC drill team tops competition

Cape JROTC was honored with numerous awards at a recent drill competition. Shown in the back row are (l-r) coach Teague Elliott, Sgt. The Cape Henlopen High School Junior ROTC Drill Team, led by Cadet Teague Elliott and the Color Guard led by Cadet Sylvester Lovett successfully competed in their first drill competition of the year Jan. 26 at Sussex Central High School. Competing against seven other teams from Delaware and Maryland schools, Cape's team finished second overall. The Color Guard and the Drill Team both won first places in their competition.
Four cadets finished in the top five places for the Individual Drill event. Cadet Ross Hicks won second place and Cadets Teague Elliott, Allie Mueller and Alex Dominick finished third, fourth and fifth, respectively.
