The Cape baseball team, closing out the regular  season with four games over five days, shut out Delmarva Christian 10-0 May 15 after taking care of business at Woodbridge May 14, defeating the Blue Raiders 9-1.

Kai Vitella pitched a three-hit shutout over the Royals as the Vikings jumped out to an early lead on five runs in the first, behind big hits by David Kwan, D.D. Gooch and Jon Warren.  Diaz Nardo added a two-run homer in the fifth inning to put the game away.

Griffin Kammerer got the start and win for Cape in the Woodbridge game, hurling the first three innings then handing the ball to Diaz Nardo for three with Kai Vitella closing.

"There are all kinds of scenarios for us to make or not make the state tournament, but right now we just have to play good baseball and win," said coach Ben Evick after the game.

Kammerer also drove in four runs in a game where Woodbridge walked nine batters and hit another three.

Cape travels to Saint Mark's,  9-7, for a 3:45 p.m. game Friday, May 17, to end the regular season.
