Cape softball falls to Panthers 11-6

The Cape Henlopen softball team fell to 7-8 on the season with an 11-6 loss to visiting Polytech May 8.

The Vikings scored six runs on seven hits against the powerful 10-4 Panthers squad. Elissa Leach was 2-3 with a home run for Cape, while Kira Vitella and Tiara Duffy slammed a triple and a double, respectively.

Shaina Reed had a grand slam for the Panthers, while Whitney DeMora knocked a solo home run.

The Vikings traveled to Smyrna to face the Eagles Tuesday, May 13.
