Cape track girls win Division I at Twilight Relays

Two-time state champion still a major player

Wake up - the Cape Henlopen girls' track team, the two-time Division I state champion, is back in the hunt and is still a major player after winning the Division I crown at the Twilight Relays April 19, scoring 92 points followed by Smyrna 87 and Milford 75.

Cape used quality and depth and a bunch of new names to surprise the field and win the meet.

Cape’s performances and places follow:

The 4-by-100-meter relay of Kadijah Doughty, Anshe Boyer,MiQuaine Hollins andTyra Weatherly ran 52.4  for second place.

The 4-by-200 relay of Keyisha Frazier, Marnae Duffy, Sarah Dziak and Reanna Ferguson ran 1:59.8 for fourth place.

The 4-by-800 relay of Rachel Best, Madi Smith, Megan Hart and Liz Sparks finished in 10:50.9 for second place.

The 1,000-meter Swedish medley of Amanda Hurst, Keyisha Frazier, Tyra Weatherly and Jade Jeffereson ran 2:29 for first place.

The 1,600 sprint medley of  Shyaire Dineen, Kyla Duffy, Marnae Duffy and Bianca Iammatteo finished in 5:10. 46 for fifth place.

Distance medley of Keren Rams, Megan Hart, Madison MacElrevey and Rachel Best  ran 13:57 for second place.

Cape placed second in the shuttle hurdle relay (no names available).

High jump relay of  Julie Kyritsis 5 feet and Megan Hart 4-8 tied for first.

Long jump relay of Kadijah Doughty 15-2 and MiQuaine Hollins 14-4 won first place.

Triple jump relay of  Megan Hart 32-5 and Juli Kyritsis 29-8 earned second place.

Shot put relay of Kadijah Doughty 40-4 and Tiana Evans 29-5 captured first place.

Discus relay of Aaliyah Reese 81-3 Andi Brzoska 80-10  earned third place.
