Car crashes into Rehoboth Taco Bell
The Taco Bell on Route 1 has reopened after it closed briefly when a car crashed into the eatery April 13.
Gregory Pflug, 60, of Rehoboth Beach had gone through the drive-through at 11:44 p.m. when he suddenly accelerated his 2011 Honda Pilot as he drove around the restaurant, said Cpl. Gary Fournier of the Delaware State Police.
He drove over a flower bed and through an outdoor seating area before crashing into the northeast corner of the building, Fournier said.
Pflug then got out and ran but was followed by witnesses; police arrested him nearby, Fournier said.
Pflug was charged with driving under the influence of alcohol, failing to have insurance, leaving the scene of a property damage crash and other charges.
As of April 15, Taco Bell has posted a sign announcing it is once again open.
Officials at Taco Bell in Rehoboth Beach could not be reached for comment.
