Premier Centre for the Arts at the Milton Theatre welcomed Sen. Tom Carper, July 18. As students of the summer camp practiced their parts in a musical on the historic stage, Carper toured the theatre discussing the history with Fred Munzert, Premier Centre for the Arts executive director, and Milton Chamber of Commerce Executive Director Lisa Sumstine.

They discussed the historic plight of the theatre and how the Premier Centre for the Arts of Middletown was introduced to Milton. Sumstine travelled with her daughter to Middletown for theater classes, and in a discussion with Munzert, mentioned the Milton Theatre and its history. After a tour Munzert and his crew decided to take on the venue and re-open the theatre.
