Catherine Short of Middletown elected president of Delaware Mothers

Delaware Association of American Mothers announces the election of its new president, the Rev. Catherine L. Short of Middletown. Short is the ordained nondenominational team pastor of former Faith Home Ministries Inc. with her husband, the Rev. Jewett Michael Short, who is now the pastor of Wesley Chapel United Methodist Church in Lincoln. The Shorts served as ordained team pastors from 1991 to 2007, working side-by-side in ministry.

The Shorts are the parents of Bryan Devon Short, Esq., who is married to Rachel Panizca Short, an entrepreneur, and lives in Avon, Conn. Bryan and Rachel share ownership of The Sewing Loft of Avon.

The Rev. Catherine Short has served in the following capacities: vice president (1991-2005) and president (2005-2007) of Faith Home Ministries; secretary of the Board of Directors of the Brandywine Hundred Rotary; owner and president of the Advisory Council, Delaware Community Connections Inc.; Whatcoat United Methodist Church, financial secretary and member of church council; St. Paul's United Methodist Church, associate pastor and church council member; Lower Brandywine Presbyterian Church, pastoral internship.

Short has a BA in psychology from Eastern University in St. Davids, Pa., and a master of divinity from Palmer Theological Seminary. She is the owner of See the World Travel Agency in Middletown.

Delaware Association of American Mothers is a state affiliate of American Mothers Inc., a nonprofit devoted to supporting and honoring mothers worldwide since 1935.
