Changing Fates trying to save horses

By Changing Fates Equine Rescue of Delaware Inc. Board of Directors | Dec 05, 2013

In a difficult economy when organizations posing as "rescues" are mismanaging funds and acting dishonorably, many supporters and generous donors become weary of assisting nonprofits and rescues. This reality has made survival very difficult for legitimate rescues, including Changing Fates Equine Rescue of Delaware Inc.

Every board member at Changing Fates is a volunteer, as is the wonderful team of volunteers that assist daily by donating their time to feed and care for the horses. Board members receive no payment for the work they do. They have regular paying jobs and can be found during their work week farming chickens, farmer, managing an office, driving a truck and teaching local children; they spend their days earning paychecks to support the needs of the rescue that can't be met even through the few generous donations they receive.Changing Fates is a "real" rescue.

They put their horses first. board members are always available if any horse or adopter needs them. In addition to the daily care at the rescue property, Changing Fates also inspects their adopted horses at least once annually. If an adopted horse is not being properly cared for the rescue attempts to partner with the adopter to help. If problems with the horse or its care aren't addressed, Changing Fates will take the horse back!

At their "real" rescue, the animal always comes first! The work of Changing Fates to rehabilitate and rehome abused and neglected horses is extremely rewarding, but is also very costly. They need your help.If you are interested in donating feed to help Changing Fates' horses make it through the winter months, please visit Barton's Southern States in Seaford. Barton's collects feed donations and holds them for the rescue to pick up. If you are interested in donating, monetary donations can be made online at Changing Fates' website through PayPal or Network for Good at www.changingfatesequine.org.If you have any questions about Changing Fates Equine Rescue of Delaware, Inc., please ask.
