CHEF thanks supporters of Winter Jam
The Cape Henlopen Educational Foundation held its annual Winter Jam at the end of January. It was a huge success with wonderful music, great food and really fabulous silent auction items. As development director for CHEF, there is no way I could have managed such a high energy event without the support of so many members of the Cape Henlopen community. As such, I’d like to publicly thank everyone who helped out.
Thank you to the Winter Jam board and the CHEF board who gave up their time to collect items and find sponsors, decorate the convention center and then man the different activities. Thank you to the families of the organizers for supporting your loved ones away and working on this cause.
Thank you to the people working at the Rehoboth Beach Convention Center during the event. No matter how many changes we came up with or crazy requests we made, you always cheerfully helped.
Thank you to Dennis Forney of the Cape Gazette for being our master of ceremonies with such perfect flare, and to Richard Bryan of Delaware Realty for so expertly running our live auction.
Thank you to Kati Green of Kati Green Design for her volunteer work to create the eye-catching posters and tickets for the event.
Thank you to the restaurants and businesses who gave time, food and goods to help the children of Cape Henlopen. I know you are asked for something every day, so I genuinely appreciate that you chose to support us this year.
Thank you to the Funsters and Rick Arzt for entertaining the crowd so brilliantly.
And mostly, thank you to the 400 people who attended. We were able to raise $24,000 to help the students and teachers of Cape Henlopen. A complete list of thank yous is available on our website www.CapeEducationFund.org.
So mark you calendars. Next year’s jam will take place Jan. 23, at the Rehoboth Beach Convention Center. Let me know if you’d like to help.
