Christopher Peterson returns to Clear Space for 'La Cage aux Folles,' 'The Best of EYECONS'
After a three-year absence, Christopher Peterson is back on the stage in Rehoboth Beach this summer. Clear Space Theatre Company announces that it has signed North America’s Foremost Female Impersonator to its summer repertory to costar in "La Cage aux Folles." Peterson will play Albin with local favorite John Zinzi as Georges. Directed by Dot Neumann of Washington, D.C.’s Signature Theater, the action centers on the meaning of family and the conflicts between Georges, Albin and their son’s fiancée's very conservative parents, with the notorious St. Tropez nightclub - a place described as “bad and beautiful, it’s bawdy and bizarre!” - as backdrop. Performances will run through Aug. 29.
In addition to this summer's repertory production, Peterson will be presenting “The Best of EYECONS” for the late night crowd on weekends at Clear Space through Sept. 7. Peterson calls this a one-man, many-woman show with no lip-syncing as he parodies stars including Marilyn Monroe, Bette Davis, Barbra Streisand, Joan Rivers, Bette Midler and Lucille Ball, whom he played next to Cuba Gooding, Jr. in the hit movie “Rat Race.” Other personalities, such as “the whitest Tina Turner you will ever see,” and even Lady Gaga will appear.
