Colleen F. Class, homemaker, devoted mother
Colleen Francis Class, 83, of Lewes, passed away Friday, Oct. 12,
2012, at Beebe Medical Center surrounded by her family. She was born March 16, 1929, in Baltimore, Md., daughter of the late Matilda and Gordon Bennett. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Warren L. Class; and brother, Michael G. Bennett.
Alongside her late husband, Warren Class, Colleen was instrumental in the creation of Colonial East Ltd. Colleen was an avid reader and movie buff, who especially enjoyed all things Johnny Depp. Her granddaughters recall many a figure skating outing and Colleen’s strong affection for Paul Wylie. She adored her grandchildren and great-grandchildren and looked forward to their visits each Saturday.
“Grammy,” as she was fondly called, will be remembered for her honest nature and love of chocolate.
Colleen is survived by her three sons, Stevan D. Class and wife Shirley of Georgetown, Mark C. Class and wife Estie of Lewes, and Gary W. Class and wife Helene of Albany, Calif. Colleen is also survived by 10 grandchildren Ryan, Asheley, Brianna, Cassandra, Melissa, Geoffrey, Evan and Alexander Class, Edward Kenny and Veronica Kenny Evans; and six great-grandchildren.
A private family service will be held at Parsell Funeral Homes & Crematorium, Lewes. Interment will be at St. John’s Lutheran Church in Parkville, Md.
In lieu of flowers, the family suggests donations be made in Colleen’s honor to the charity of choice.
