Community Reinvestment Council announces 2013 Celebrate CRA awards
The Delaware Community Reinvestment Action Council, Inc. announced its 2013 Celebrate CRA award recipients at the Ed Oliver Golf Club Oct. 4.
“This is a great evening for DCRAC. As we gather to our honor those who contribute so much to Delaware, we are also very proud to celebrate our 26 years of fair lending advocacy,” said Rashmi Rangan, DCRAC’s executive editor. The annual event, this year titled Taking Responsibility for the Community Where We Live, Work, Worship and Study, honored members of Delaware’s public, private and nonprofit sectors.
DCRAC presented the 2013 Excellence in Community Service Award to Congressman John C. Carney Jr.; the 2013 James H. Sills Jr. CRA Leadership Award to James M. Baker; the 2013 Board of Directors’ Award to Bernard Kenny, chairman of the board, Kenny Family Foundation and owner, Kenny Family ShopRites of Delaware; and the 2013 Volunteer Award to ABCares, Associated Builders and Contractors.
DCRAC is a tax-exempt, nonprofit whose mission is to ensure equitable treatment and equal access to credit and capital for the under-served populations and communities throughout Delaware through advocacy, education, legislation, and outreach.
