Congratulations to Republican Nelly Jordan
Congratulations are in order to Nelly Aliste Jordan and the Sussex County Republican Party. Nelly has announced her candidacy for the GOP State Committee Vice-Chair position.
Nelly is a proud American citizen who epitomizes the American Dream and the essence of a strong conservative woman. She came here from Talca, Chile, South America over 40 year ago. Ever since Nelly and her husband Tom moved to Delaware in 2006 from Washington, D.C., they have been involved with the GOP. She was awarded Republican of the Month in July 2010, and in June, 2011, Nelly was elected Republican chairman of the 36th election district.
This bold move is a prime opportunity to dispel false notions put forth about the Republican Party “waging war on women” or ignoring our Hispanic citizens. Perhaps a change like this can help break the stranglehold of one-party rule in the state of Delaware.
In addition to being a wife of 40 years, mother of three children and grandmother of three, Nelly worked in the real estate industry in Washington, D.C., and remains vice president of the DC Metropolitan Association of Housing Counselors. She also helped husband Tom run a printing business.
“Through my relationships, acquaintances and experiences in the Hispanic community I am in a unique position to promote an outreach to all of our citizens,” Nelly said. “It is time we make inroads into the Hispanic community and explore our similarities rather than ponder our differences. When I am elected vice Chair, I will establish credibility that our party stands for all of the people.”
Kudos to the Sussex County GOP for backing this capable, dedicated and proud Hispanic American woman. Good Luck Nelly!
