Coolspring Presbyterian Church to celebrate 287th Homecoming Oct. 20Russ McCabe to be guest speaker
The Coolspring Presbyterian Church celebrates 287 years of gathering as a congregation at 2 p.m., Sunday, Oct. 20. The Coolspring sanctuary, built in 1854, is located between Georgetown and Lewes, just off Route 9 at Joseph’s Road. The street address is: 28843 Log Cabin Hill Road, Lewes. The Coolspring cemetery dates back to 1740.
Russ McCabe, Delaware state archivist, retired, will be the guest speaker for the afternoon worship. McCabe, an eloquent speaker, will be sharing the history of the church. Recently, McCabe teamed with Kevin Fleming to create the book Landmarks and Legacies.
The Coolspring congregation invites the community to come to attend worship and to stay after the worship service to enjoy refreshments and fellowship in our Community Hall. The church and community hall are handicapped accessible.
