DAR plans wreath laying ceremony on Memorial Day in Lewes
The Colonel David Hall Chapter of the National Society of the Daughters of the American Revolution will be doing a wreath laying ceremony at Lewes Presbyterian Church 10 a.m., Memorial Day, Monday, May 26. The purpose is to pay tribute to American Patriot, Col. David Hall and to all those who made personal sacrifices for this country.
Nancy Barlow, chapter regent, and Dr Gloria Lester, chapter chaplain, will conduct the ceremony for the Col. David Hall Chapter of the DAR. Mayor Ted Becker and Sen. Ernie Lopez, R-Lewes will speak. The Lewes City Council has been invited. The Cape Henlopen ROTC will present the colors. Soloist Kristin Jones will sing the National Anthem. Virginia Trader, vice president general NSDAR, will represent the National DAR. Claudia Onken, state regent, and Marge Frampton, honorary state regent, will represent the state DAR. George Jones, state president, will represent the Sons of the American Revolution. Troy Foxwell will represent the Children of the American Revolution. Several chapter members will be dressed in colonial costumes.
