DCHS graduates Class of 2014

Jul 02, 2014
Delmarva Christian High School students look on as Cairn University President Dr. Todd Williams underscores what the past four years have prepared them for.

Delmarva Christian High School has proudly celebrated the graduation of its 10th senior class, the class of 2014. Since construction of the school's new Arts & Athletic Center was not ready for the May 23 event, the ceremony was moved to Eagle’s Nest Fellowship Church in Milton. The evening’s speaker was Dr. Todd Williams, president of Cairn University in Langhorn, Pa. Principal Mike Vonhof welcomed the class and parents, and DCHS Board of Directors President Marlene Brown was honored to present the diplomas.

Proverbs 3: 5-6 was proudly noted on the cover of the program provided for the commencement exercises. “Trust in the Lord with all your heart, and do not lean on your own understanding. In all your ways acknowledge Him, and He will make your paths straight,” is no mere platitude for the DCHS class of 2014. Students from the graduating class have been involved in leading their classmates as speakers during their senior chapel, in their service to their peers, and in their service to their community. The senior class of Delmarva Christian High School is a dedicated bunch. DCHS faculty and staff have a special bond with its students, and this class is no different. Principal Mike Vonhof says, “This was a uniquely close-knit group.”

The rigorous academic standards of DCHS have been a benefit to the students as well. The entire senior class intends to pursue secondary education. The interests and talents of the class are diverse. Some plan on studying psychology or pediatric oncology, while others are intent on pursuing their passion in digital art and design. Colleges that have accepted students include the University of Delaware, Frostburg State, Regent University, and Cairn University.

Delmarva Christian High School is a nondenominational Christian high school serving students in Sussex, Kent, Wicomico, Dorchester, and Worcester counties. The school's mission is to proclaim the gospel by preparing students spiritually, academically, and physically to know and do God's will in their lives.
