Debra A. Bouchard, Millsboro businesswoman

Debra A. Bouchaud, 53, of Long Neck, formerly of Franklin Township, N.J., went home to be with the Lord Friday, May 16, 2014, after a courageous battle with breast cancer.

She was born May 14, 1961, in Camden, N.J., daughter of the late Harry and Harriet Smitheman.

She was a graduate of Highland High School in Blackwood, N.J. Debra was the owner and operator of Cosmic Custom Screen Printing & Embroidery in Williamstown, N.J. and Millsboro, and also worked for Atlantic Subsea, Inc., in Bridgeport, N.J.

She was faithful member of New Life Bible Fellowship Church in Millsboro, served on the board of the Mariner’s Cove Homeowners Association, a previous member of the American Quarter Horse Association and Punkin Chunkin. Debra enjoyed boating, gardening and horseback riding.

She also competed in bodybuilding contests in the 1980s and won numerous titles while living in New Jersey. She will be forever remembered as a loving wife, mother, grandmother, sister and friend.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by a brother, Harry Smitheman; and a sister, Harriet Smitheman. She is survived by her loving husband of 33 years, Raymond C. Bouchaud Sr.; two sons, Raymond C. Bouchaud Jr. and his wife Tina of Blackwood, and Andrew J. Bouchaud of Blackwood; a grandson, Vincent Raymond Bouchaud; two sisters, Esther Bahm of Williamstown, NJ and Barbara Smitheman of Williamstown; and two brothers, William Smitheman and his wife Lisa of Cape May, N.J. and Richard Smitheman and his wife Joann of Franklinville, N.J.; 14 nieces and nephews; and 12 great-nieces and -nephews.

A visitation will be held from 2 to 3 p.m., Saturday, May 31, with a celebration of her life to begin at 3 p.m. at New Life Bible Fellowship Church, 24771 Cannon Road, Millsboro. Interment will be private.

In lieu of flowers, the family suggests memorial contributions in Debra’s name to the New Life Bible Fellowship Church at the above address.
