Delaware Hospice’s New Hope Program receives $100,000 grant

Delaware Hospice was chosen as the recipient of a $100,000 Highmark Blue Cross Blue Shield Delaware BluePrints for the Community grant to support its New Hope Program.

New Hope offers specialized grief support to children and teens who are coping with the loss of a loved one, through individual counseling, peer support groups or a summer camp.

Highmark Delaware recently awarded seven grants totaling $737,793 through its Blue Prints for the Community grant program. Timothy J. Constantine, president of Highmark Blue Cross Blue Shield Delaware, said, “The BluePrints for the Community program began in 2007 to help organizations that positively impact the health and wellness of our community. Highmark Delaware is proud to support Delaware Hospice’s tremendous efforts to help children and teens cope with loss.”

“We are honored to have been selected for this generous grant,” said Susan D. Lloyd, Delaware Hospice president and CEO. “These funds will enable us to continue meeting the needs of grieving youth in our community. The BluePrints for the Community grant program has made a remarkable impact over the years with its support of programs in Delaware, and we know that this grant will also make a significant impact on the lives of the children and teens in Delaware Hospice’s New Hope Program.”
