Delaware Seashore programming extends to Fenwick Island June 20 to Aug. 16
Fenwick Island State Park, the southernmost sister site of Delaware Seashore State Park, will serve as host to several of Delaware Seashore’s popular programs including a daytime seining program with a park naturalist and two Park After Dark programs, Wild Crab Chase and Stargazing at the Seashore.
Seining the Bay participants will use a net to catch and examine the critters that live in Little Assawoman Bay. Wild Crab Chase participants will use flashlights to search for the elusive nocturnal ghost crab. Stargazing at the Seashore participants will enjoy an evening of stargazing and relaxation under the night sky.
Seining the Bay will run at 1:30 p.m. every Friday at the Fenwick Island Day Area from June 21 to Aug. 16. Preregistration is required as space is limited.
Wild Crab Chase will begin at 8:30 p.m. at the Fenwick Island bathhouse on Thursdays, June 20 to Aug. 15 (with the exception of July 4). This program is free for the whole family and preregistration is not required.
Stargazing at the Seashore will run at Fenwick Island from 9 to 10:30 p.m., Wednesdays, July 10 and Aug. 7. Blankets and pillows are recommended, and stargazing equipment will be provided. Space is limited, so preregistration is required.
