Delaware Shore Field Hockey Earns Silver
The Delaware Shore Field Hockey U19 team completed its competition at the Disney Showcase last weekend with a silver medal in the Simba bracket after being defeated by the Horizon club from PA by a final of 3-1. The team had taken the lead on a penalty stroke by Sydney Ostroski just before half time but Horizon started to control the action and earned a tie mid-way through the second half and then getting the winning goal with 11:22 remaining in the game.
Delaware reached the finals with a 3-0 win over the Typhoon club from VA earlier in the day on goals by Sam Broadhurst, Jordie Loomis and Ostroski.
The team began the tournament by finishing third in the opening pool with a 1-2 record. Delaware Shore then won the second pool placement with a 3-0 record thus earning the right to play in the semi-final game in the Simba bracket (consolation).
The team will next play in the Beach Bash tourney the last weekend of April at Cape Henlopen High School. This event is co-hosted by the Baltimore Field Hockey Club and Delaware Shore Field Hockey, Inc.
