Delaware Shore Field Hockey Summer League opening Night

Opening night of De Shore’s summer league elementary division saw the Jaguars and the Coyotes play to a 1-1 tie. Sommer Dorman scored with 5:55 remaining in the opening half to give the Coyotes the lead but the Jaguars earned the tie when Reagan Ciabattoni (filling in for a roster depleted Jags) scored at 5:00 in the second half.

In the second game of the division, the Scorpions defeated the Rattlers by a final of 3-0. Goals for the Scorpions were by Reagan Ciabattoni (2) and Madison Short.

Wednesday’s games will be the Cougars vs the Rattlers at 5:45 followed by the Jaguars vs the Scorpions at 6:30 at the Cape Henlopen HS Bermuda fields.


The Senior Division opened play with the Seahawks defeating the Pirates by a final of 4-1. Anna Stancofski opened the scoring for the Seahawks with her goal at 20:59 in the first half and Carolyn Talerico scored at 9:35 to give the Seahawks a 2-0 lead going into half time. Lisa Williams and Kelly Smith scored to push the lead to 4-0 before Jenna Steele was able to get a goal for the Pirates.

In the second game of the division, the Warriors gained a 4-0 win over the Surfers. Brittany Booker opened the scoring with her goal at 21:26 in the half. Anna Steiner then scored at 12:48 on a tap in at the corner post to make the half time lead 2-0. Steiner scored midway through the second half and Hailey Sidibe finished the scoring with her goal at 2:24 left in the game.


The Windriders face the Warriors at 5:45 on Wednesday while the Pirates take on the Surfers at 6:45. Both games are on the turf at Cape Henlopen HS.
