Delaware SPCA seeks homes for three horses

May 16, 2014
Czar would be a fantastic companion horse.

The Delaware SPCA is seeking homes for three horses that were abandoned and found in horrible living conditions. Today, they are safe and healthy, but in need of permanent homes.

Dream is a 2-year-old paint pony. She is halter broke but will need some handling and groceries in order to get her going under saddle. Czar is a 19-year-old bay Quarter horse mix gelding. He is extremely social, and would be a fantastic companion horse. Dallas is a blue roan pony, estimated to be 2 years of age.

These horses deserve to live out their lives in peace and happiness. SPCA members hope someone with adequate land will consider making room for any of these wonderful horses. After enduring what they have been through, they would be content to graze pastures and keep other horses company. They think that with a bit of training, patience and some TLC, these horses would love the feel of a rider in the saddle and dirt under their hooves.

For more information on these horses, contact the animal care manager at Ashlee@delspca.org.

The Delaware SPCA is the oldest animal welfare organization in the state. Established in 1873, it has provided continuous service to pets and their companions for 140 years. Today, Delaware SPCA operates shelters in Stanton (New Castle County) and Georgetown (Sussex County), providing animal welfare, adoption, spay/neuter and educational services throughout the state under the banner of Give a Paw a Hand.
