A group of Delaware Technical Community College students and faculty spent 10 days traveling throughout Ireland during late May and early June. While visiting Kylemore Abbey, the group took a break to read the Cape Gazette and catch up on Sussex County news.

While in Ireland, the group visited many historic sites such as Dunguaire Castle, the Cliffs of Moher, Blarney Castle, Newgrange Stone Age Passage Tomb, Dublin Castle, Kilmainham Gaol, St. Patrick’s Cathedral, Trinity College, Corcomroe Abbey, The Burren, and more. One of the students, Sal Klosiewicz, said, “I had an amazing time and am so glad to have had the experience. I made new friends, and I will never forget the fun we had."

During the 2013-14 school year, Delaware Tech offered five study abroad trips. In the 2014-15 school year, six study abroad trips will be offered. Many students are able to receive scholarships to assist with paying for these educational experiences. Delaware Tech also presents a Global Understanding Series that features programs and workshops free to the community, Delaware Tech students and staff. For more information on the Global Understanding Series, go to www.dtcc.edu/academics/international-education/global-understanding-series.
