Delaware Veterans Coalition to meet May 27
The Delaware Veterans Coalition will hold its bi-monthly meeting Tuesday, May 27, at 7 p.m., at the FOP Lodge in Kitts Hummock. The guest speaker will be Rich Jones, Delaware Natural Resources Conservation Service.
Jones served in the U.S. Air Force from 1986 to 2006 after serving as a C-5 crew chief. He currently serves as the Veterans Emphasis Program Manager for NRCS in Georgetown, and is also a member of the Civil Rights Advisory Committee. His emphasis is on program outreach, and hiring of veterans.
NRCS helps America’s farmers, ranchers and forest landowners conserve the nation’s soil, water, air and other natural resources. All programs are voluntary and offer science-based solutions that benefit both the landowner and the environment. Farmers, ranchers and forest landowners can receive financial assistance from NRCS to make improvements to their land.
Founded in May 2011, the Delaware Veterans Coalition is a nonprofit, pro-bono lobbying organization that works with elected officials and community leaders on issues that affect all generations of Delaware’s military veterans. Membership is open to all First State veterans regardless of conflict or era in which they served. The mission of the coalition is to ensure that the concerns of those who serve are heard. Its slogan is “Veterans are our only business.” All Delaware veterans are invited, whether members or not. The coalition dues are $20 per year.

To mark Memorial Day, the coalition has posted a tribute on its website to all who have served. The meeting will also serve as a third anniversary celebration.
