Mar 29, 2013

A clinically based therapeutic group, Detox Your Mind, is currently forming and will meet at 4 p.m., Wednesdays starting May 1 at Quakertown Wellness, 1307 Savannah Road in Lewes.

Aimed at those who are trying to stop their minds from working overtime, struggling with emotions that bring them down or behaving in ways that negatively impact relationships and health, the group is designed to support those who participate in making positive, sustainable changes in their lives.

Detox Your Mind will offer techniques to increase energy and expand well-being as well as opportunities to maintain health goals and increase options for success toward changing one's life.

The group is being formed by practitioners Ada Gonzalez, Ph.D, LMFT; Sally Laux, BSN, MAc; and Kimberly Blanch, RN, LMT, RYT, CHHC.

Gonzalez is a developmental psychologist and licensed marriage and family therapist. She helps people see life from a holistic viewpoint and experience the benefits of a positive outlook. She is the creator and founder of the group and utilizes knowledge from the latest neuropsychology research.

Laux is founder and director of Quakertown Wellness Integrative Healthcare Center. She has integrated Western and Eastern medical philosophies since 1979. She is the author of "Life Out of Order," her memoir of overcoming challenges and making peace with her life.

Branch integrates her nursing and therapeutic massage experience with yoga and nutritional training to assist those in pursuit of a sustainable, healthy life. Using this complementary approach, she supports clients with self-care techniques such as massage, yoga, restorative breath work and nutritional guidance.

There are two options for participation in the group. Level I is a four-week program that creates the foundation for the beginning of a different way of life. Level II is a total of nine weeks, adding five weeks after completing Level I, designed to establish new ways of thinking and behaving. Throughout Level II, participants will have the opportunity for one-on-one consultations with guides to explore individual needs and help with personal goals as well as unlimited email access and access to a members-only website for additional resources with peer support and a final half-day celebration.

For a period of time after program completion, participants will be offered follow-up support at reduced rates for massage, nutrition coaching, yoga and acupuncture treatments.

A complimentary introductory one-hour information session will take place at 4 p.m., Wednesday, April 3 or April 24 at Quakertown Wellness Studio. The session will provide a meeting with Gonzalez, Laux and Blanch.
